Project Overview

The interior ambiance of a car is a superset that should be fulfilled by different instruments. The Interior should address the users to all senses. Hearing some sounds of interactions is one of these instruments that address a specific sense. As one of the responsible UX designers for the interior, I was involved in sound design and generating project.

16 different sounds were generated and a vast majority of them being different versions of beeping sounds. The idea was to enhance the user experience for the driver by broadening the sonic environment. Using a broader set of auditory feedback would help the driver as the intake of visual feedback when driving is limited because you have to be vigilant of your surroundings.

During this period, my sound design collaborator and I conducted numerous tests and adapted our design processes to a field that was new to us. Among our experiments, we delved into design methodologies aimed at enhancing and amplifying the pre-existing ambient sounds in the car.

Checked out some beeping examples below 🙂
